James L. Lipscomb is a former executive vice president and general counsel of a Fortune 40 public company. He has held leadership positions in local, state and national organizations, including the State Bar of California, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the Practising Law Institute, the Citizens Budget Commission of New York and the Citizens Housing and Planning Council of New York. Known for his willingness to speak truth to power, Lipscomb was named to Inside Counsel magazine’s 2006 list of the top fifty most influential in-house counsel in North America and is the 2009 recipient of the National Bar Association’s Heman Marion Sweatt Award for national achievement.
